» Stó:lō Elders' Lodge Visit from Honourable Steven L. Point, OBC
Xwĕ lī qwĕl tĕl, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia
At the request of the residents, The Honourable Steven L. Point, OBC Xwĕ lī qwĕl tĕl, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia paid a visit to the Stó:lō Elders’ Lodge on Thursday, February, 23, 2012.
The Stó:lō Nation Wholesale Gift Shop team have been attending the Elders’ Lodge on a weekly basis over the last few months to visit and participate in traditional craft making alongside the Elders. During one of their recent get-togethers, the topic of His Honour was discussed and several of the residents expressed a desire to meet the Lieutenant Governor. Some further dialogue ensued amongst members of the Stó:lō Cultural Committee and a formal request was sent to the Government House in Victoria, asking for an official visit. The office of His Honour responded with a formal memorandum stating he would be available to attend the Stó:lō Elders’ Lodge on February 23, 2012.
The Elders Lodge staff, residents, and many guests were assembled to welcome His Honour, Lieutenant Governor, Steven Point for an afternoon reception. As His Honour was drummed into the building, the Semoya Dance Group formed a procession, and Chief Frank Malloway (Siyémches) welcomed the attendees. Following a greeting and speech by the Lieutenant Governor, Elder Ray Blake presented him with a gift on behalf of the Stó:lō Elders’ Lodge.

» Stó:lō Nation 1st Annual Gathering
On October 29, 2011, SN hosted a celebration for our communities which shared games, food, singing and dancing, information, and an all-around good time. Thank you to everyone who came out!

» AIDP File Transfer Ceremony
After six months of collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Children and Family Development and the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre, Stó:lō Nation is pleased to announce the transfer of the Aboriginal Infant Development Program services from the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre to Stó:lō Nation!
On September 6, 2011, a celebration was held at SNHS with chiefs, dignitaries, and our friends at FVCDC. Thank you to everyone who came out to mark this occasion!

» 2011 FAD Golf Tournament
The Stó:lō Nation Finance and Administration team would like to thank everyone for making the 2011 Golf Tournament a complete success. Held on August 18, 2011 SNFAD had over twenty teams participate in the event, and come out to enjoy the sunny summer day. Additional photos courtesy of Sharlene Charlton.

» 2011 Children's Festival
On August 11, 2010, Stó:lō Nation Health Services hosted the 19th annual Children's Festival. This year boasted over 600 kids -- up 30% from last year!
