Office of the Executive Director

The Executive Director provides the oversight functions over the programs, projects and services of the Stó:lō  Nation, as well as the authority and responsibility to oversee its administrative, operational, fiscal and risk management functions. 

The office ensures that the following expectations are met and key responsibilities are performed within the existing policies, guidelines and procedures:

  1. Equitable distribution of programs and services to Stó:lō  communities where the Stó:lō  Nation has valid and obligatory service agreement duties.
  2. Programs and services to First Nations communities fit within the approved SN Vision Framework and Development Plan.
  3. Annual SN planning, budgeting and programming activities are conducted within appropriate guidelines of funding donors and sponsors.
  4. Program budgeting and implementation, budget monitoring and evaluation, internal organization audit for efficiency and effectiveness and overall SN office operations are performed to meet the requirements of SN programs and services delivery. 
  5. The organization's cash flow as per the budget and reports results are reported to the SN Board.
  6. Liaison with the Chiefs and Councils of First Nations where Stó:lō Nation has existing service delivery obligations are maintained and programs and service delivery issues and concerns are addressed at the management team level.
  7.  

  8. Progress reports are submitted to the Stó:lō Nation Board of Directors, Stó:lō Nation Chiefs Council (SNCC) and the SNCC House Committees to ensure that SN annual accomplishments and performance meets the expectations of the Stó:lō Nation member communities.
  9. Supervisory authority and functions of all programs and services management positions establishes a team-based management approach for the implementation of the policies and direction given by the SN Board and/or the SNCC.

The positive image of SN to the community are maintained through direct involvement and through public relations programs, including personal contact, public speaking, literature, and the media.
